After Schooled Party
The first ever Read it Forward is over. Saturday May 9, 2009 was the After Schooled Party at the Georgetown Public Library. We celebrated all things groovy and hippie from the book Schooled by Gordon Korman. There was a Tai Chi demonstration. We tie dyed headbands, made jewelry and Shrinky Dinks, and ate a lot of pizza.
Thanks to all the teachers, parents, administrators, and librarians from Benold Middle School, Forbes Middle School, Tippit Middle School, and the Ninth Grade Campus who made the program a success. Thanks to the Friends of the Georgetown Public Library for sponsoring the party. A special thanks to all the students who read the book, passed it on, and read it forward.
We had fun, so let’s look ahead to the next Read it Forward this fall. If you have any thoughts on the program or suggestions for how to make it better, tell your school librarian or Bethni King at the Georgetown Public Library. We welcome any feedback.
