teenheader1

Welcome to Fantastical the teen summer program at GPL.

Fantastical: Teen Summer Reading Program kicks off June 5, 2009 with laser tag and a mobile video game theater featuring multiple flat-screen HDTV displays.Over June and July teen programs include altered books, manga mania, making your own video game, an animation workshop, henna tattoos, a two day drawing workshop with Erik Kuntz, movies, crafts, and a zine workshop.

Here’s how it works:

Teens that read or attend events for a total of 5 hours between June  5 and July 28 win a prize.  Everyone who reads 10 or more hours will be entered into  a drawing for  the chance to win a $50 gift certificate to Best Buy or Target.   Reading material  includes books, magazines, websites, newspapers, graphic novels,  manga, and audio books.  Or attend the  teen events for reading credit.

Reading 1 hour = 1 hour of reading

Attending 1 event = 1 hour of reading.

Mix and match. Read some and attend some events until you reach 5 hours.

Register online to keep track of your progress and prizes.

For fun write and post at least one review on something you have read.

All activities are free and open to teens 12-18 years old.
